STEP 5
Firmware Handshake & Control Interface Setup
Connect the heavy-duty external DC power supply block to the primary control terminal of the
AtomStack chassis, and connect the high-speed USB data line from the machine interface directly
into your PC or Mac workstation. For standard Windows environments, initialize the open
source utility LaserGRBL. For multi-platform setups, use the professional system LightBurn.
Power on the engraver unit, navigate to your software settings menu, select the corresponding
serial port configuration, and verify that a “Machine Connected” status message appears.
STEP 6
Precision Variable Focal Optimization
Place your raw target test material flat onto the metal workspace. Loosen the thumb bracket
screw on the side of the 12W laser block. Insert the fixed mechanical acrylic calibration wedge
block flat on top of the target material, directly underneath the aluminum shield shroud. Slide
the laser module vertically down until the base of the anodized brass laser cone makes physical
contact with the step face of the gauge. Lock the thumb screw tightly, then slip the gauge out.
Your optical convergence point is now set perfectly at Z0 = 0.06mm. STEP 7
Vector Framing & Operational Execution
Import your desired target art file (optimized formats include clean `.svg` or vector `.dxf` profiles)
into your software canvas. Execute the “Frame” utility inside the application. This causes the
machine carriage to physically trace an un-energized, non-burning layout path directly above
the raw material using a safe, low-power visible positioning point. Verify that your print layout is
positioned perfectly within your raw material boundaries. Put on your protective optical filter
glasses, start your smoke extraction fan, and click “Execute Job”
