Empowering Parishioners Through Skills and Entrepreneurship

On 23rd June 2026, the Parish Empowerment Project (PEP) at I.C. Church, Borivali successfully conducted an LED Bulb Assembly and Entrepreneurship Workshop for over 100 participants. The workshop was aimed at equipping parishioners with practical technical skills while introducing them to opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship.

The training included a complete demonstration of LED bulb assembly, covering component identification, assembly procedures, testing, quality control, packaging, and marketing strategies. Participants actively engaged in the hands-on session and successfully assembled their own LED bulbs.
Learning Through Hands-On Demonstration

A key focus of the workshop was entrepreneurship. Participants learned how an LED bulb can be assembled at a material cost of approximately ₹35 and sold for around ₹65, creating an attractive opportunity for home-based income generation and small business development.
Building Self-Reliance Through Skills
The enthusiastic response from participants demonstrated the community’s eagerness to learn practical skills that can improve family income and financial independence. The workshop encouraged participants to explore individual ventures as well as group-based enterprises through self-help groups and parish networks.
The LED Bulb Assembly Workshop is part of the wider vision of the PEP – Parish Empowerment Project, which seeks to empower parishioners through skill development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Looking Ahead
Following the success of this program, PEP plans to introduce additional training initiatives in:
- Hydroponics and Urban Farming
- Microgreens Production
- Solar Energy Applications
- Digital Skills and Entrepreneurship
- Home-Based Manufacturing Opportunities
